Hi Martha,
I worry that they will charge or exclude paying talking about a child’s chronic disease on a check up .This is often the number problem to effect the child and family’s quality of life. Discussing asthma, ADHD, and learning disabilites on a well check up are an imperative.

I caution extrapolating this to pediatrics. What is important is the tech who performs the test pediatric friendly as this can effect the quality of the ultrasound? I find this very interesting. In our practices in Westwood/Mansfield we have started making efforts to reduce parents’ costs for acute non-urgent visits- the type that will be coming more and more out of their pockets as the Obama bill emphasizes prevention.
